Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. was established on 13 December 1980 as Suriname's national oil company, engaged in exploration, production, refining, and marketing of crude and refined petroleum products. Its 15,000 bbl/day refinery at Tout Lui Faut produces diesel, gasoline, fuel oil, and bitumen, with surplus exported to Caribbean markets. Staatsolie also operates a 96 MW thermal power plant through its subsidiary SPCS.
