Listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, the company produces refined white sugar for retail and industrial sale and generates electricity from bagasse sold to the national grid. After years of financial difficulties, Mumias entered receivership and is undergoing restructuring to restore production to its 7,000 tonne-per-day crushing capacity.
