Morinaga & Co. was founded in 1899 as Japan's first modern confectionery manufacturer and today produces the internationally beloved HI-CHEW soft candy in over 50 flavours. Morinaga Asia Pacific actively recruits wholesale distributors via a dedicated application programme. A North Carolina manufacturing facility, opened in 2015, serves North American wholesale demand, with further capacity added at a second US plant in 2026.
