Lebanon Chemicals Company, founded in 1955 on an 80,000 m2 site in Selaata, is Lebanon's only manufacturer of chemical fertilizers. The company produces sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, single and triple superphosphate, aluminum sulphate, and monocalcium phosphate, exporting 98% of production to customers in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
