Alltech Inc.

Alltech Inc. is an Irish-American animal nutrition and biotechnology company founded in 1980 by Dr Pearse Lyons in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with European headquarters in Dunboyne, County Meath, Ireland. The company's core technology platform is yeast fermentation, from which Alltech produces organic trace minerals (Sel-Plex organic selenium, Bioplex chelated zinc, copper and manganese), the Mycosorb range of mycotoxin adsorbents, Optigen slow-release non-protein nitrogen for ruminants, and speciality yeast products (Yea-Sacc, ActiSaf) that improve gut health and feed conversion. Products are sold to compound feed manufacturers, premix producers, integrators and direct to large livestock producers across poultry, pig, dairy, beef and aquaculture sectors in over 120 countries. Alltech operates fermentation and manufacturing facilities in the United States, Ireland, Spain, China and South Korea, and maintains a global technical sales network of more than 5,000 staff. The company is fully employee-owned and invests heavily in research at the Alltech European Bioscience Centre in Ireland.
